Visiting Berkeley

From 4 to 14 March, Franck Guarnieri and Sébastien Travadel stayed at the University of Berkeley, the opportunity to continue a collaboration initiated since 2012 with the Lawrence Berkeley Lab in the aftermath of the Fukushima accident, to meet Professor Junko Habu of the Department of Anthropology, on the consequences of the nuclear accident, and for a long exchange with researchers from the Berkeley Institute for Data Science (BIDS) on the relationship between engineering, science and art.

It was also the occasion to meet Philippe Perez, “attaché” for science and technology at the Consulate General of France. A day at Stanford University allowed to continue the discussion on the catastrophism with the professor Jean Pierre Dupuy, support of the first hour for te publication of the book Un récit de Fukushima published by the Presses Universitaires de France (PUF).
